Who can benefit from a Baha?
Baha is a simple and effective hearing solution for people who need hearing amplification but have ear canal or middle ear problems.
When describing hearing loss we generally look at three characteristics – the type of hearing loss, the degree of hearing loss, and the configuration of the hearing loss.
Hearing loss can be classified by where or what part of the auditory system is damaged. Causes of hearing losses can be congenital (present at birth) or acquired. Typically, people who have a Baha have one of the following three basic types of hearing loss:
- conductive hearing loss
- single sided sensorineural hearing loss (also known as SSD™)
- mixed hearing loss
