Emma’s mother Allison tells her story...
![]() |
We were devastated to find out about Emma’s hearing loss, but she was fitted with implants at the age of three and now attends a mainstream school where she’s almost level with friends of the same age.
Fortunately Emma was approved funding for bilaterals, which
research showed us would be most beneficial to her. Putting a child into
hospital is a bizarre feeling, but the quality of life given to her and us
through the implants is incredible. They’ve completely changed her life and ours.
Emma is now part of the British Disabled Gymnastics team and has won three medals in recent months. She will also be taking part in the British championships later this year
